Thinking of reaching out to Safe Communities Wellington County? Volunteers, truly, are the backbone of our organization. Depending on where you are located, we have a number of options for you to help out. We are fortunate to have Safe Communities and COPs groups across Wellington County that may be of interest to you. Wellington North, Minto and Guelph-Eramosa have active Safe Communities groups that would be happy to show you what their group is all about. We also have a small, but mighty Erin COPs group that is being reinvigorated by new volunteers and a new name - Town of Erin Safe Communities.
We are always looking for "Champions in Safety" throughout the county that can join or even be the catalyst in starting a new Safe Communities Group in the municipality that you live in.
Currently We have 3 priority areas, falls, motor vehicle collisions, and intentional Self Harm. Do any of those areas interest you? Well, we have Priority Advisory Groups that come up with strategies and tactics in those areas that will help keep the whole of Wellington County Safe.
A couple of questions to contemplate before your contact us...Do you want an ongoing commitment, or would you prefer to be an event volunteer?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
If you or your organization are interested in getting involved with Safe Communities, through volunteering or through sponsorship, please contact Program Co-ordinator Christine Veit by email or by phone at 226-820-1413.
